Title: Homemade Picture Thread!
Post by: Techshooter on June 27, 2011, 09:15:53 pm
This is a thread to share and discuss pictures of Nerf Homemade blasters.

I'll start with my PACsnap:

It has 5in. of draw and gets about 80ft. flat with a 1ft. PETG hopper.

It was fun trying to figure out how to seperate the two parts of the metal catchface.

I put the grooves in the pump handle with a dremel and plastic welded (sort of) a pice of polycarb so I could still prime it with sweety hands.

Here is its epic hopper that allows me to fire the blaster rather fast. If you are interested in one, PM me and I may build you one.

Here is my HAMP:

And yes, that is a 14 dart double sided rainbow clip:

It has a perfect seal because I used an o-ring instead of yarn.

Edit:

I decided to take pictures of all the nerf homemade materials that I have. I'll start off with polycarb:

The blue stuff is an 18in. by 11in. piece of 1/4in. Polycarb that I bought for 11 dollars at my Ace. In front of it is 1/16 polycarb I bought from home depot. I don't know the demensions of it. I bought it for 12 dollars, because I didn't know how cheap it was at Ace... In front of all of it is a scrap piece of plastic that came with something. It is super weak, but it works great for gap sealing.

Thar is a 3/16 piece of black polycarb that my dad gave me (he used it to build a windsheild). Behind it on the floor is a small replica of Kind Tut's toom that I made for a book report. I made it out of hot glue. popsickle stick, and cardboard.

That is 3/16 polycarb that I got for Chrismas.

Now it's PVC time!

Thats just a little bit that I took a picture of. I keap the rest in my basement.

And just to clarify, I paid for all of this myself unless stated otherwise.

Here is a little teaser...

Wow, this thread has been dead for awhile...

Here is my freshly made ASoN L+L. It is the first plycarb homemade that I have ever made. I love this thing. It has a LOT of improvements to the original desighn. It only used 1 standoff, instead of the 6 that ASoN said were needed. It has a larger plunger tube than the original, too. It has a 1ft. plastic sink drain repair pipe plunger tube. This plunger tube is larger the the L+L CS's, and it is 1in. longer, which makes this thing insane. I let the pictures do the talking now.

Unprimed with a 5in. PETG barrel.

Here you can see that I used an extension spring instead of the rubber band ASoN used, and that I used 1/4in, PVC sheet to save myself money. PVC sheet is like heaven to machine.

Just a close up on the catch.

I got most of the parts for this blaster at my local ACE, which made this build around 40 dollars, instead of the 60 dollars from McMasters.

Thanks guys. I've talked about building one for awhile with a jigsaw, but I never did it (I don't know why). I got a scroll saw for my birthday so I decided to make it.

@Keo, the next thing I'll be making is a Minusbow (a PACbow without the PAC), so that I can sell it and have money for a plusbow. The handle on this thing sucks. I have marks on my hands from priming it. The next L+L I make with be a L+L CS.

^ That is awesome.

Here are two Minusbows. The one on the bottom, with the clear handle and hopper is mine, and the one with the black handle is going to be for sale, after I finish everything up.

Mine has a snap style plunger head, while the other one is a bunch of rubber washers making an attempt to make it seal.

Here are some close ups of them.

(http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg692/scaled.php?server=692&filename=picture2747.jpg&res=medium)(Note not all of the screws are in it because it isn't finished.)

Now, a close up on the catch.

Nothing much, just a pic of my EPVAT Chimaera
(http://i46.servimg.com/u/f46/15/46/29/71/p3100013.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=294&u=15462971)
Is actually my second attempt. The first came out with the handle too far from the shoulder stock, and too much distance from the top rail to the bottom. It has been adjusted, and is super comfy. Where ever there is duct tape, there's a zip tie underneath that. I got tired of getting cut by them. Pump is held on with 2 zip ties and lotsa hotglue.

Good Golly! So much WIN! I would love to see a firing video of that beast. And more pics!

Where did you find the clear McGregor pump btw? My sporting goods store only had black ones.

I've been working on this baby for awhile. I present to you, my Plusbow. It has aluminum sideplates, white nylon rod, a grommet plunger head, and a K26 at full compression.

The hopper didn't fit on my usual background, so here are the rest of the pictures.

Pool noodle swords!

They connect!

The blade is 1/2" thinwall pvc glued to a threaded coupler. I added some shelf liner to the grips for a sharkskin look. The pommel is a slice from a football/missile. I had a dream that I cracked my tv screen. 2 Days later I made this. Evidence for ancient aliens? Giorgio Tsoukalos's hair is skeptical.

Iatc: very nice. I'd've gone for a different priming handle, but it looks overall nice.

When I saw yours I got a smile, too, but I didn't see it until two weeks after  you posted it, so I never said anything.

@Cat: I would've never thought of using something like that. We use plastic that they put in windows, why not just use the frame, right?

Well, that makes it okay then. Since then, I've built a pump grip for it, but it needs some furniture, the plain PVC makes it grip at bad angle.

I finished this awhile ago, and it will be for sale soon. I won't post all of the details here, since it will have its own sales thread.

This is what I've been calling my "secret" projects. This one also has a blue brother,  that will be for sale soon, also. Enough with the words, though. Time for the pictures!!!

I just finished up Nsnerfing's plusbow. I like the way his looks way more than the way mine looks. I'm making a shortened pumpbow that will look like his plusbow for myself sometime.

So I guess the polycarb that I bought for Nsnerfing's plusbow wasn't actually polycarb, so it broke during shipping. He sent it back, and I replaced all of the broken parts, along with reinforcing non-broken parts.

She's done. I reinforced some parts of it so that I know it won't break. I personally like the black pieces more than the clear pieces. What do you think?
