Alright, as an attempt to get more members, the M/A team is hosting a contest.

This is a cosmetic contest, internal mods won't effect anything.

When I say cosmetic, I mean PJ's, props, or making a NF look like a Sig Suaer. (please, don't)

The winner will be discussed by users, and the M/A team. If you paint it to look realistically, not making it a prop, then you'll lose points from the M/A team.

Rules:

Requirements/Resrictions:

Both Categories:
1. Proper Write-up Format
2. No CO2/HPA or pre-pressurized containers
3. No Combustion based firing system (Spudgun)
4. Maximum pressure allowed is 60psi
5. Must fire either stock ammo or stefans (slug/hotglue style)
6. Must be usable in NIC war
7. No plagiarism. (Give credit, were credit is due)

Homemade:
1. Proper Write-up Format
2. No use of preformed plastics (no toy plastics)
3. No replication of the Crossbow, LockNLoad

Production:

1. No Metal Blades
2. Must use stock firing system (doesn't mean it has to be stock)

Judging

Since there are two separate categories in which the contest can be entered, there will be separate judging criteria.

Voting:
After the Deadline there will be a short voting session for the contest entries. At this current time, it is undecided to have separate voting for the two categories. The winner of the poll(s) will receive the difference of points from second place to a maximum of 5 points.


 
Prizes:
The winner will receive 1 (one) free paint job, done by me. You pick the colors, and I paint it. However, you send me the blaster, I paint it. I will NOT mod it for liability reasons.

Runner up: No prizes, yet.

Judges:
Judges will include myself and number of experienced modders, and by users.

Raffle: Only if we get enough entries. Users can enter a prize if wanted. (You'll get your name in the virtual hat 2 times if you do ;D)

Naw, I suck, and probably couldn't do this proper write up format, especially on something I have that's been finished a while.

I don't neccesairly need the prize though, I have a commission with KiDD now and surely should have atleast 2 more Side arm and 2 moe primary contracts to come, because i'd need him to do the mods too >.>

I have an entry, I just have to do the writeup. I need to take a picture of it finished but the coupler is broke... I also need to find the pictures.

Wait so can you still Paint a Nerf Blaster and enter it? How would you do a write up then?

If there are zero entries, I might as well enter "Fujiwhara Special" (god I feel so cheesy calling it that...)

I'd enter my 1337 shnipehrz hawk, but i'ts just a shell because I yanked the internals wanting to put a tank and a bladder in it. And it's not even going to be painted, just a wood stock and a pvc barrel extension.

OK wait a minute... I think Redfish and some others where going to enter. A win by default seems kind of lame don't you think? (Tech is going to hate me for that post. XD)

I am backed up with school, and commissions. If they want something done, it needs to be entered, soon. Like, tomorrow.

I have a personal life as well, I can't just do a paintjob overnight. My friends birthday is next week, and I plan on going to Cedar Point with some friends. So, if they want it done, get it in, because I'm not waiting forever.

To be honest, I didn't even want to win. I was hoping that someone would see my post and want to enter, trying to beat me. I enjoy painting, and having someone else paint a blaster for me takes the fun out of painting.

OK I will ask Johnson Arms and Redfish... And KIDD, don't feel rushed and under pressure, nobody is going to die if they don't have KIDD painted Nerf gun right away. Take it easy. Unless there is a douche involved, they will understand. ;)

Here is my thought about having a painted blaster as a prize for a cosmetic contest: If you are good enough to win the contest, you probably enjoy painting and you don't want someone to paint a blaster for you.

Well, that should have been said at the beginning of the contest, not now.

But, I think even if you are good enough to be able to, enjoy it and stuff, it's kinda cool to use someone else's adequate work.  Food tastes better when you didn't make it, artists don't hang up much of their own work in their personal home besides their gallery and so forth. 

I suck and I commission KiDD anyway, or I'd have tried it.
