KIDD, I can't edit the site.
Alright, I changed up the permissions for you. You can do almost everything an Admin can do.

Whoa, thanks KIDD. Also, I can't figure out how to get the shoutbox only on the homepage, so just minimize it if you don't like it on every page.
392  For our Members / Off Topic. / Re: How to get the site more popular on: June 29, 2011, 09:51:48 am
Maybe get some support from some of the other NIC sites?

Ya, that would be a way, but most of the sites ban spammers... but we do have an Admin here who is related to one of the Admins of FU. Another idea I have is for all members of this site put a link to this site in there sig on other sites! The only one we can't is Nerfhaven, so get to it folks!

Copy and paste this into your sig on other sites:
Code:
Come join [url=homeofnerf.smfforfree.com]Home of Foam![/url]

Also, I added the site URL to google and Bing, so if somebody googles something like "how mod Nerf gun" this site should show up.

Honestly, I dont like having the shoutbox on every page. I preffered having it just at the home page. I can live with it, but its sorta annoying. I do apologize for being picky.

If you don't like it, you can always minimize it so that it doesn't stalk you.

Just share some ideas on how to make the site more popular. We only have to secret ideas right now, so we're open to suggestions!

This is really nice, Yks. It's really clean, too. The only thing I want to say is that the nub on the front of the PT will actually come off if you pull hard enough. It's a seperate piece to the PT and is glued there.
397  Everything Nerf. / Modifications / Nite Finder Overhaul: BigFinder on: June 28, 2011, 06:23:33 pm
So, I decided I wan't an insanely awesome secondary, so I was going to make a super extended draw NiteFinder, but it evolved into this. The writeup will be divided into two parts, super extened draw and plunger tube replacement.

Super Extended Draw

Tools/Materials
Dremel
Nitefinder
Hot glue

So, first take out your plunger tube and cut off those little screw holes that hold the plunger tube down. Next, cut slots in the back of the Nitefinder in between the two screw ports and make it go up to the catch holder:

Chop off that nub on the plunger rod:

Now, you are going to want to minimize your Nitefinder:

(If you did it how I minimized it (like Rogue) then you should have most of the screw ports left.)

Set the plunger tube forward and glue it down.

Plunger Tube Replacement

Materials

1/2in. CPVC coupler
Super Glue
Goop
Electrical Tape
Lube
BBBB Pump tube and head
Hot glue
A screw

Tools

Dremel
Hot glue gun
Ruler

First, you are going to want to cut your BBBB pump tube to a length of about 4 1/2 in.

Now, get your 1/2 in. CPVC coupler and cut it in half:

Now rap it several time in electical tape until it fits tight in BBBB pump tube:

Super glue it into your BBBB pump tube (make sure the coupler is all the way in). After it dries, put lubricate a piece of CPVC and put in your coupler. Put Plumber's Goop around it and the coupler and let it dry:

(This does not have the goop around it yet)

While that's drying, cut your BBBB pump head like this:

Now take a longish screw and screw the pump head onto the plunger rod. Now, select a strong and long spring (do not use a k26 cut down to a lenght of 4 1/2 in., it won't work) I used the home depot spring that Rogue used in his writeup, WHICH IS TO SHORT. I now use a K25 spring, which works great

After the BBBB pump tube is finished drying, glue it in with all your internals in like this:

(You will have to do Dremeling to make it fit)

Put it back together and your done!

I am incredible pleased with this blaster. It puts out a good amount of air and is pretty powerful. The ranges are about 70 ft. flat with the K25 spring and a 6in. speedloader.

Now that we have a shoutbox, I think a basic rule is don't discuss anything Nerfy that could be a thread!!! We want to get as many post here as we can, so please don't abuse the shoutbox!

I would recomend getting rid of the spam check. It won't let me post any of my old wrire-ups because the spamcheck kicks in, and doesn't show the letters I'm supposed to type.

Nice to see you Fractal! As KIDD said, tell your friends about this site, we want it to get big!

Here is my HAMP:

And yes, that is a 14 dart double sided rainbow clip:

It has a perfect seal because I used an o-ring instead of yarn.

Edit:

I decided to take pictures of all the nerf homemade materials that I have. I'll start off with polycarb:

The blue stuff is an 18in. by 11in. piece of 1/4in. Polycarb that I bought for 11 dollars at my Ace. In front of it is 1/16 polycarb I bought from home depot. I don't know the demensions of it. I bought it for 12 dollars, because I didn't know how cheap it was at Ace... In front of all of it is a scrap piece of plastic that came with something. It is super weak, but it works great for gap sealing.

Thar is a 3/16 piece of black polycarb that my dad gave me (he used it to build a windsheild). Behind it on the floor is a small replica of Kind Tut's toom that I made for a book report. I made it out of hot glue. popsickle stick, and cardboard.

That is 3/16 polycarb that I got for Chrismas.

Now it's PVC time!

Thats just a little bit that I took a picture of. I keap the rest in my basement.

And just to clarify, I paid for all of this myself unless stated otherwise.

Here is a little teaser...

403  Everything Nerf. / Homemades / Homemade Picture Thread! on: June 27, 2011, 09:15:53 pm
This is a thread to share and discuss pictures of Nerf Homemade blasters.

I'll start with my PACsnap:

It has 5in. of draw and gets about 80ft. flat with a 1ft. PETG hopper.

It was fun trying to figure out how to seperate the two parts of the metal catchface.

I put the grooves in the pump handle with a dremel and plastic welded (sort of) a pice of polycarb so I could still prime it with sweety hands.

Here is its epic hopper that allows me to fire the blaster rather fast. If you are interested in one, PM me and I may build you one.
