Music needed a topic so I made one and this is what THIS topic is about.  What's the kind of music you like to listen to before going to a nerf war?  Rock to get you pumped?  Jazz to get you in a happy mood?  Heavy metal (It might count as rock) to get yourself fired up to be BA to kill all of those newbs (including D***).

My personal favs are Old and New Rock.  No favs, just ROCK.

I like so much different stuff... I'll try to list a few artists that I've taken a fancy to:

Sonata Arctica, DragonForce, Depeche Mode, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, The Ink Spots, Michael Jackson, The Everly Brothers, Bing Crosby and a LOT of others that I can't really recall right now...

Basically, I like a lot of different music, though I will not listen to 99% of modern stuff.

I don't go to many wars, but I just listen to Eminem.

This one  is kinda like "HELL YEAH GO PWN SOME NUBZ" if you've seen the movie 8 Mile.

Some rock... 3 days grace mainly. I like Katy Perry (laugh it up) too... blame the ex for that.

  This

Is what I listen to when I'm mad. Good song. Don't listen to it if you're faint of heart....

I have yet to encounter any other nerfers in my area, but I like to listen to classic rock. Anything from AC/DC to Led Zep.

I do think that AC/DC is made for nerfing, however. They really get you pumped and some of their songs are just perfect. War machine, Shoot to Thrill, Back in Black (after respawning?), Cold Hearted Man, Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap), Guns for Hire- the list goes on and on.

Of course, there's always We Will Rock You (Queen).

WHHHAAAAT! No Rush! Grin

When I want to feel awesome: Edgar Winter... FRANKENSTEIN!

Just all around epicness, (I don't care if that is not a real word... No really I don't give a crap) I just love this stuff, metal, prog rock, just no screamo, I hate it: DreamTheater, Symphony X, (My favorite) Ale Storm, Metallica, Lunatica, (Another one of my faves) Paul Gilbert, The Showdown, (First album, they went screamo on the next.) Blind Guardian, Nightwish, and a lot I am forgetting.

Classic Rock: Kansas, Deep purple, Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, (Neil Pert FTW) Foreigner, Hart, Van Halen, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, and some others I am forgetting... And no, I do not believe in Jimi Hendrix... And sorry Red Fish, my dad loves Led Zep, but I hate it.

80's. White snake, The Scorpions, Poison, and I just started getting into the 80's so I don't know a whole lot.

What I think was the best decade of music, the 90's. Breaking Benjamen, Old Linken Park, Shine Down, Seether, Evanescence, (I love that band) Avril Lavigne, Flyleaf, Chavell, Theory of a Deadman, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Talent, and again there are I am forgetting...

2k+: Unfortunately my dad is a 70's child and Mega has a policy that if it is not old or obscure, its not good, so I don't get a chance to listen to new stuff really... But I do like Paramour.

That Would be me and my bro. ^^

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZF5ra8N1ndw&feature=channel_video_title

This would be my guitar hero. ^^

This would be the band with my drum hero.

PS. And for laughs, Weird Al, and Frank Zappa. Grin

No, I love rush. I just didn't feel like mentioning every single band I listen to xD
I play guitar and do some vocals for a garage band. Good job on that song, by the way. We're pretty disorganized so we haven't even covered any songs yet, much less written, but I'll probably cover a bunch of what I listen to (Led Zep, Rush, AC/DC, Van Halen, etc.).

We should totally write a Nerf song. It would be epic.

I remember sitting at the piano at a very early age plunking around on the keys.  It was completely fascinating to me.  I could make music. And music that sounded good! Now don’t get me wrong.  It wasn’t “good” by our standards of a really good song, but something good was happening. As I choose to hold down certain keys the music would either blend together or suddenly clash.  I could adjust my playing until the sound was pleasant and enjoyable. I so remember that as if it was yesterday.

That early version of songwriting made a big impression on me.  I was no prodigy but music was definitely making an impact on me.

I remember standing in church as a young kid with my mom.  We were singing a upbeat song and I remember trying to match my mom’s harmony.  I thought that was totally cool.  She was singing something slightly different yet it fit.  How cool is that?

I took violin lessons for several years.  My mom had an old kid’s violin in the closet and I wanted to learn.  I began learning the joy of playing actual notes and melody.  I could make something sound really good with practice.  I had some incredible “gifted” friends who also played violin and it was fascinating to see what this instrument was capable of.

Somehow music attached to the very depths of my soul and became part of me.

When I wrote my first “real” song it was right after learning how to play a few chords on the guitar. G-C-D maybe that’s where you began as well (or will soon begin).  It was a worship song of sorts.  Something about needing water…I can’t quite remember.  I need to check my old folders to see if I can find that song.

I sucked at sports. I didn’t care. But I loved music.  Playing in bands, singing in choir (not as studly as being in a band) but being involved with music was such a cool outlet for me and continues to be so.

That's cool Loran. I want to learn violin actually, I can play drums and guitar quite well though. Can you play any Kansas?

I like R&B, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical (I don't listen to it enough), and anything weird like Robyn Hitchcock or Brian Eno.

Favorite Artists would include:

Billy Holiday
Stevie Wonder - Not a day of my life has gone by where I didn't have Key of Life go through my head
Hendrix
Son House - Our most unknown national treasure. Was found laguishing at some job after an amazing body of work.
Robert Johnson - A genius who could talk using a guitar back in the 20's.
Tuck & Pattie - Another amazing guitar player.

I probably don't listen to anything contemporary but do like Alternative.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs - Great sound
OK GO - Is that right?
White Stripes
