I already posted it at Nrev so I'll post it here too.

Materials

-1/2 in PVC (I think that it's thin wall)
-1/2 CPVC
-CPVC coupler
-PVC coupler
-E-tape
-Some sort of cutting device
-A sharpie (to mark of lengths)
-Some sort of lube

1-First off make these measurements and cut along the lines.

2-Now cut the breech in the PVC that kinda looks like this.

The breech opening should be  inches from the left and 3.5 inches from the right.

3-Make sure to make the same cut in the cpvc.

Make sure the breech opening .75 in from the left and 5.25 inches from the right.

Now onto the cpvc parts.

1-Take the E-Tape around the cpvc until it has a RELATIVELY tight fit.  It should slide smoothly in and out of the 1/2 in PVC.

Now it should look like this once it's finished being wrapped in E-Tape.

2-As seen in the last picture you should lube the E-tape so it can slide in and out of the cpvc.

3-On the side farthest from the breech opening you should put a coupler on the end.

4-Now you slide the PVC over the cpvc (the picture of the closed breech will show you what it looks like)

Here's the finished breech opened

And here is it closed

Note- For this breech I find it helpful to push the stefans in the breech opening, the sliding them down the barrel so they aren't visible, then firing.

Questions, comments and flames are welcome and fully appreciated.

Very nice, but just one problem. Most CPVC is about 1/8" to big around to fit into 1/2" PVC. You must have found a kind that does fit in, if you could, could you tell us the brand/kind it is?

What brand is the PVC?

1-I'm sorry but I don't know.  I found This at my cousins house and it didn't have any markings on it.

^I found that over at Nrev.

Another thing you could do is take 1/2in. Poly Pipe (you can get it at home depot under the CPVC) and use that as a breech. You don't need any e-tap, its (almost) air tight. Nice write-up and breech. Thanks for contributing.

I have 2 different PVC's both 1/2 inch. One is thickwalled and CPVC from Ace fits it nicely. Then I have a thinwalled PVC it fits CPVC Loosely.

The thick walled is from Lowes, and the thin walled was just in my garage.

The I.D. oc PVC/CPVC is loosley regulated. The O.D. is what matters and has to fit everything. If you pick up more PVC at Lowes don't expect it to fit CPVC.

Well considering the fact that it didn't cost me any money.............

Tech edit: I fixed the quote thing for you. It was my fault for messing it up in the first place, so I'm sorry.

Funny thing is, whenever you google CPVC/PVC sizes, all the things I've seen say they're the same size. They might go by the ID's though, so what they say is 1/2" CPVC would actually be 3/4" CPVC.

Anyway, size discussion aside, good job on this writeup. Very clean/easy to follow.
